**Georgian MP Criticizes European Parliament Resolution**

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution that does not recognize the will of the Georgian people. This is according to Davit Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling party in Georgia.

Matikashvili believes that this resolution has no value for his country because it ignores the fact that Salome Zurabishvili is still recognized as the president. He thinks that the European Parliament should directly recognize Mikheil Saakashvili as the president instead, which would be “practically the same”.

Matikashvili asked what is the purpose of a resolution that ignores the will of over 1 million citizens. He thinks it’s absurd and that the European Parliament should respect the wishes of the Georgian people.

The MP also mentioned the fight against “deep state” that is taking place in America, led by Donald Trump. He believes that this fight will soon reach the European bureaucracy and that democracy, pluralism, and publicity must win over bureaucratic coercion.

Until the Georgian people’s will is respected, Matikashvili does not think that any resolution from the European Parliament will have value for his country.
