**Tanker Carrying Sulfuric Acid Overturns Near Belgrade**
A tanker rail car carrying sulfuric acid crashed near the Belgrade suburb of Vrcin on Tuesday evening. Emergency teams and fire trucks were quickly sent to the scene.
The cargo spilled after the crash. Serbia’s state TV, RTS, reported that some of the acid leaked out. However, officials say there is no danger to the public at this time.
**No Harmful Consequences Expected**
Serbia’s Internal Affairs Minister, Ivica Dacic, assured people that all predictions suggest there will be no harm from the accident. He said a tanker was on its way to transfer the remaining acid and that there are no fumes or other problems expected.
The Environmental Protection Ministry is monitoring the situation closely. They say automatic measuring stations nearby have shown sulfur dioxide levels within permitted limits, so far.
