London to Host Ramstein Meeting Next Week
The next Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) summit will take place in London on February 12. This is a change from the previous plan, where it would have been held in the US.
The meeting will be chaired by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. The UDCG brings together more than 50 countries to discuss how to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
This will be the first time the UK has hosted a Ramstein summit since Donald Trump’s administration took office.
Key Issues on the Agenda
The meeting will focus on priorities for Ukraine, including air defenses and military support. This comes as Russian forces have been using drones to attack Ukrainian positions.
Russia Launches Drones, Ukraine Fires Back
Ukraine reported 77 Shahed-type attack and decoy drones launched by Russia overnight. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed some of these attacks were successful.
The number of casualties for Russian forces is reported to be over 1,240 just in the past day.

These countries are disconnecting from Russia’s power grid this weekend and synchronizing with Western Europe’s network. This move is a response to Russia’s actions during the conflict.
German Support for Ukraine Continues to Grow
A survey found that 67% of Germans support Germany’s military aid for Ukraine.
Sanctions Imposed on Russia
President Volodymyr Zelensky approved sanctions against 57 captains of Russia’s “shadow fleet” and 55 individuals involved in looting Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
Ukraine Faces Economic Challenges
The country is facing economic difficulties, including a shortage of births (495,090 deaths were registered in 2024 compared to almost three times fewer births).
A Ukrainian subsidiary of Ferrexpo, Poltava Mining, faces a civil claim for Hr 157 billion ($3.78 billion) over illegal mining and the sale of waste products.
