**Palestinian Americans Outraged Over Trump’s Gaza Proposal**
Palestinian Americans across the US have reacted with anger and sadness to Donald Trump’s proposal for the US to “take over” Gaza. Many of them still consider Gaza their home.
Iman Kishawi, a Palestinian American from Los Angeles, was “very angered” by what President Trump said. She asked: “Who are you to own our land?” Trump proposed that Palestinians be resettled elsewhere while the US takes ownership of the territory and turns it into a tourist destination called the “Riviera del Mediterráneo”.
**Outrage and Sorrow**
Palestinian American activists and authors have spoken out against Trump’s proposal. Laila El-Haddad, a Maryland resident, was “stunned” by what she heard. She said that Trump’s plan showed a “callous disregard for Palestinian lives, humanity, and dignity”. Tariq Luthun, a Palestinian American from Michigan, called the proposal a continuation of US “imperialist policies”.
Iman Kishawi, who fled Gaza at the age of seven due to war, became depressed by the news. She wants Palestinians to be able to live in their homeland and has considered returning to Gaza after a ceasefire was announced last month.
**Criticism of Trump’s Plan**
Trump’s proposal is seen as violating international law. Many Palestinian Americans are worried that this plan could lead to more instability in the Middle East. They fear for their families’ safety and want the opportunity to return to their homeland.
