**Georgian Leader Defends Police**
Kakha Kaladze, the leader of Georgia’s “Georgian Dream” party, has spoken out in support of the country’s police. He said that verbal and physical abuse towards officers is completely unacceptable.
Kaladze believes that there is a deliberate effort to discredit the police. He thinks that people are unfairly attacking law enforcement officers, which is not acceptable. He welcomes new laws that will make it harder for people to behave in this way.
**New Laws Planned**
“Georgian Dream” wants to change some of Georgia’s laws. They plan to make protests in certain buildings and closed spaces illegal without permission from the owner. The fines for things like vandalism, disobeying police, and insulting officers will also go up.
If someone insults a government official or public servant, they could be given an administrative punishment. This is a kind of warning or fine rather than a criminal sentence.
**Tougher Penalties**
The party also wants to make some changes to the Criminal Code. If someone encourages violence, they could face up to three years in prison. People who attack police officers will get harsher sentences too, especially if they do it as part of a group or use dangerous means.
Attacking a police officer’s health can also lead to serious punishment. The party wants people who threaten or harm government officials and their families to be held criminally responsible.
