**Serbian President Vucic Rejects Transitional Government**
Serbia’s president, Aleksandar Vucic, has ruled out the possibility of forming a transitional or expert government. He made this clear during a gathering in Trstenik, central Serbia.
“I guarantee with my life there will be no transitional or expert government,” Vucic said. “It will be a Serbian government.” He claimed that recent events in Serbia are attempts by foreign intelligence agencies to destabilize the country.
**No Puppets Government**
Vucic rejected the idea of a government made up of people who would do what others tell them to do. “Elections, referendums, democracy – these are all possible,” he said. “But there won’t be a government of puppets servile to others, not while I’m alive and serving as president.”
**Engaging with Opposition**
The president wants to engage in dialogue with everyone, including those who have different views. When Prime Minister Milos Vucevic resigns officially, Vucic will invite all parliamentary parties to discussions. However, he anticipates that they will not attend.
**Talks with Students**
Vucic also talked about the ongoing student protests. He said that the state has fulfilled their demands and paid out scholarships and student loan payments. “Students have been protesting for months,” he said. “They won’t talk with us or with the prosecutors, but we want to talk and we will keep inviting them.”
**Government’s Economic Success**
Vucic pointed out the economic successes of his government, led by the Serbian Progressive Party since 2012. Serbia now ranks first in the region in terms of average salary, surpassing countries that previously had significantly higher wages.
**No Compromises on Kosovo**
The president also stated that there will be no compromises regarding Serbia’s legal status. “Kosovo is Serbia,” he said. “And there will be no sanctions against our friends, no matter how much they demand it.” He claimed that some foreigners want to push for violence and a revolution in Serbia.
