Farmers Take to Roads in Protest
On Tuesday, farmers began blocking intersections on State Road 22 with their tractors. The blockade will last for 24 hours.
State Road 22 connects Belgrade to western Serbia and Montenegro. This highway is an important route for many people.
The dairy farmers from Raska and Moravica districts are protesting because milk prices have dropped. They want to show support for students who are also protesting.
Two separate blockades were announced earlier by the Sajkaca Farmers’ Association and the Milk Producers Association of Sumadija and Pomoravlje. One is near Cacak, and the other is near Kraljevo.
Before blocking traffic, farmers drove their tractors in a protest parade.
