**Thousands Protest in Serbia**
A violent attack on university students in Novi Sad, Serbia has sparked widespread outrage. Thousands of citizens took to the streets across the country on Tuesday to protest the assault.
**Assault on Students**
On Monday night, a group of assailants linked to the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) attacked two groups of students with baseball bats. One female student was seriously injured and several others sustained minor injuries. Four suspects were arrested by police in Novi Sad.
**Protests Held Nationwide**
Demonstrations were held in many cities, including Belgrade, Zrenjanin, Nis, Kragujevac, Kraljevo, Leskovac, Cacak, and more. Local journalist Ana Lalic described the turnout as unprecedented.
