**Five Men Injured in Russian Attack on Nikopol**
On January 27, a Russian artillery attack hit the city of Nikopol in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Five men aged 30-39 were injured as a result of the attack.
According to Governor Serhii Lysak, a fire broke out in an industrial facility due to the shelling. The fire was later extinguished, but the facility sustained damage.
Nikopol is a city located on the banks of the Kakhovka Reservoir, near the Russian-occupied town of Enerhodar and the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. The city has been a regular target of Russian attacks in recent months.
In July 2024, Ukraine’s envoy to international organizations in Vienna reported that only 3% of Russian missiles, drones, and guided bombs hit military targets in Ukraine. A significant 97% of these weapons struck civilian infrastructure.
This attack on Nikopol comes just weeks after a Russian drone strike hit the city’s central market, injuring four women and two men.
