The Prosecutor’s Office has taken control of a camera that recorded an attack on Giorgi Gakharia, the leader of the “For Georgia” party. The office is being supported by the “Sheraton Batumi” hotel.
A representative from Giorgi Gakharia will review the case today. The “For Georgia” party hopes that the footage has been fully preserved and will be made available in its entirety.
On January 15, an attack on Giorgi Gakharia occurred at the “Sheraton” hotel in Batumi. He was taken to a hospital but was released soon after. A doctor said he had suffered a nose injury and a concussion.
One person involved in the altercation with Giorgi Gakharia is Dimitri Samkharadze, a deputy from the “Georgian Dream” party. There was also another confrontation at the hotel involving Zviad Koridze, a representative of the civil sector.
