**Ukrainian Forces Strike Drone Storage Facility in Russia**
On January 26, Ukrainian Air Force units and Defense Forces targeted drone storage facilities in Russia’s Oryol Oblast. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on Facebook that the strike was successful.
**Over 200 Drones Destroyed**
The strike aimed at concrete structures housing thermobaric warheads for drones. A significant secondary detonation occurred, causing extensive damage. According to preliminary reports, over 200 Shahed strike drones were destroyed, making them unusable for future attacks on Ukraine.
**Russia’s Drone Attacks Continue**
Since the fall of 2022, Russia has launched thousands of Iranian-designed Shahed drones against Ukraine. These cheap but effective drones are often used for strikes against Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. The General Staff emphasized that operations against critical facilities supporting attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure will continue.
**The Oryol Region Under Attack**
The Oryol region was previously targeted by Ukrainian forces, with a drone storage facility being destroyed on December 28 and an oil depot being hit by drones on December 22. These attacks demonstrate the continued efforts of Ukrainian forces to disrupt Russia’s drone operations.
