Russia Warns of “Uncontrolled Escalation” if NATO Troops Deploy to Ukraine

Zakharova mentioned recent statements by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who said their countries could provide troops for a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. She stated that “the intervention of NATO troops in Ukraine is categorically unacceptable for Russia.”

Other European leaders have also been discussing the idea of a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron has spearheaded this initiative. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Germany would play a role in keeping peace in Ukraine, while British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the UK would be fully involved.
