**General Strike Planned for Friday**
A big response on social media came on Thursday to calls for a general strike in Serbia. Many people and businesses said they will not work on Friday.
The student protesters called for the strike. They want people to join them by not going to work or school, and by not doing their daily activities. They say this will make a difference.
**Who’s Joining the Strike?**
Many groups have said they will join the strike. These include:
* Teachers’ unions
* The Belgrade History Archive
* Theaters across Serbia
* Media outlets N1, Nova, Danas, Sport Club, Beta, and FoNet
* Publishers and bookstores
* The Association of Musicians of Serbia
* Cineplexx Serbia movie houses
**Civil Society Organizations**
The Curuvija Foundation, Belgrade Center for Security Policy, CRTA democracy watchdog, Youth Initiative for Human Rights, and YUCOM lawyers for human rights will also join the strike. They will provide legal assistance.
Informal IT industry organizations in Belgrade and Novi Sad are also joining the strike.
