**Filmmakers Boycott State TV**

A group of Serbian screenwriters, directors, and cinematographers are refusing to let their works be shown on state television (RTS). They want to send a message to their colleagues at RTS that they can make a difference.

The filmmakers say this is their “moral act”. They don’t expect much from RTS, but hope it will encourage their colleagues to take a stand against the station’s policies. The Association of Film Directors’ president, Ivan Ikic, explained: “We want to send a message to our colleagues at RTS that they can make a difference.”

The decision follows calls by University of Arts students for artists and cultural workers to suspend their activities in protest. Ikic said art serves as a moral mirror for society. The filmmakers are considering other ways to support the protesting students.

The students’ demands include accountability for the deaths of 15 people at a train station collapse and assaults on students during protests.
