**Court of Appeals Ignored Rules, Says Lawyer**
The Court of Appeals in Georgia has made a decision that many consider unfair. The court ignored the rules and deadlines, and did not even review the case of Mzia Amaghlobeli, head of Netgazeti and Batumelebi.
According to Jumber Qatamadze, Mzia’s lawyer, the defense team is now working on filing a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. This move comes after the Court of Appeals rejected their appeal.
**Mzia Amaghlobeli’s Health**
Yesterday, Jumber Qatamadze visited Mzia in prison to check on her condition. Despite starting a hunger strike in protest, Mzia is reported to be healthy and does not need medical attention at this time. However, the lawyer has requested that her health condition be constantly monitored.
**The Court of Appeals’ Decision**
The Court of Appeals’ decision was made without reviewing all the evidence submitted by the defense team. The Criminal Procedure Code states that detention should not be applied if there is an alternative preventive measure. In this case, there were no circumstances warranting Mzia’s detention.
The lawyer has chosen to refrain from commenting on the reasoning behind the Court of Appeals’ decision until they receive a written explanation.
**Next Steps**
Mzia’s next court hearing is scheduled for March 4, where the issue of her detention will be reconsidered. The defense team plans to appeal this decision in the European Court of Human Rights.
