Russia’s War in Ukraine: Heavy Losses Reported
Russia has lost a significant number of troops and equipment since its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that Russia has lost 820,430 troops.
This number includes the casualties suffered by Russian forces over just one day, which was 1,690. In addition to human losses, Russia has also lost a large amount of equipment, including:
* Tanks: 9,821
* Armored fighting vehicles: 20,454
* Vehicles and fuel tanks: 34,488
* Artillery systems: 22,074
* Multiple launch rocket systems: 1,262
* Air defense systems: 1,049
* Planes: 369
* Helicopters: 331
* Drones: 22,768
* Ships and boats: 28
* Submarines: 1
These numbers are based on a report from the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. The full extent of Russia’s losses is still unclear.
