**Novi Sad Mayor Speaks Out**
The mayor of Novi Sad, Milan Djuric, spoke to reporters on Friday. He said that opposition councilors “forcibly entered the City Hall” and described the incident as “unprecedented for Novi Sad”.
This event happened just a few days after November 5th. The mayor believes it shows that the opposition wants power through violence, not elections. He thinks the “peaceful” protests were a cover for this plan.
**Attack on the State**
Djuric called this act an “attack on the state and on the constitutional order”. He said that people are being targeted, including officials and staff at City Hall. The mayor said this is something that has never happened in Novi Sad before.
**Disgraceful Act**
The mayor described a scene of occupation at City Hall. Councilors entered offices and harassed employees. Djuric said this will give a bad image of the city.
When asked if he would consider resigning, like some student demands, the mayor rejected the idea.
