**Estonia Backs Call for Georgian Political Prisoners’ Release**
The Chairman of Estonia’s Foreign Affairs Committee has joined a call from his German counterpart to release all political prisoners in Georgia. Marko Mihkelson made the statement on social media.
Mihkelson agreed with German MP Michael Roth that Georgian authorities should free all imprisoned politicians. Roth had previously called for the release of opposition voices, saying an authoritarian regime will eventually collapse if it tries to silence critics through imprisonment.
Mihkelson added a call for new elections in Georgia, saying they should be “free and fair”. This statement was made in response to Roth’s original post on X.
