Russia Attacks Ukraine with Smaller-than-Usual Force

On December 26, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using drones and missiles. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that the assault involved two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 24 Shahed attack drones.

The attack was smaller in scale than usual for Russia’s daily attacks. No casualties were reported from this particular attack.

Ukraine Defends Against Attack

Ukrainian air defense forces engaged the incoming threats. Officials confirmed the destruction of 13 Shahed attack drones and other types of decoy drones across multiple regions.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces successfully neutralized an explosion in Zaporizhzhia caused by a Russian missile strike targeting industrial infrastructure. No casualties were reported from this incident.

Russian Forces Continue Attacks

Russia continues its daily air attacks on residential areas and civilian infrastructure. Since October 2022, it has targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure with extensive missile and drone assaults, aiming to disrupt civilian life, particularly during the winter months.
