Georgian President’s European Parliament Address
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili recently spoke to the press about her visit to Strasbourg, where she addressed the European Parliament. She wanted to share the results of her address with the public.
The main outcome was that most European Parliamentarians showed strong support for the Georgian people. According to President Zurabishvili, it’s clear that everyone understands the situation in Georgia and what the government is trying to do by stopping people’s protests.
Without new elections, the current crisis will only get worse, President Zurabishvili warned. She emphasized that this would lead to a deeper deadlock. Despite the challenges, she believes there is a desire from Europeans to support the Georgian people in their peaceful struggle for their rights.
