Ukraine Targets Russian Air Defense System
Russian forces have lost at least 61 Tor SAM systems during the ongoing war. Ukraine’s Armed Forces successfully targeted a Russian air defense system in Zaporizhzhia Oblast using a drone-dropped munition.
A Ukrainian drone was used to identify and strike the Russian air defense unit while it was moving through occupied territory at night. The Unmanned Systems Forces command said drone pilots from the 412th Nemesis separate battalion carried out the attack.
The destruction of Russian anti-air systems will help Ukraine’s military aircraft operate more effectively on the battlefield. Ukrainian drones and missile strikes can now be used with greater success, as they are less likely to be intercepted by air defense systems.
