Ali Charinskiy: A Muslim in Ukraine
Ali Charinskiy is a Muslim activist from Dagestan, Russia. He now lives in Odesa, Ukraine. The Kyiv Independent met him to talk about his life.
Charinskiy left Russia because he disagreed with Russian imperialism. He wants Muslims to have the same rights as others. In Russia, some people do not respect this idea.
The Kyiv Independent went to spend a day with Charinskiy in Odesa. They wanted to see what life is like for him now. He talked about being Muslim in Ukraine and fighting against Russian ideas that he doesn’t agree with.
