**Ukraine’s Military Officers Caught in Corruption Scheme**

The Ukraine Security Service (SBU) has uncovered a corruption scheme involving two high-ranking officers of the country’s Armed Forces. According to investigators, the suspects signed contracts to buy fighter jet spare parts at inflated prices.

**How the Scam Worked**

In 2022 and 2023, the officers allegedly used multiple companies, some registered abroad, to make it look like there was a competitive bidding process. The investigation found that the parts were actually supplied by one of these companies, which is linked to the officers themselves.

**Money Trail**

The scheme is believed to have cost the Ukrainian state around Hr 27.3 million ($662,000). This money was allegedly funneled through a network of shell companies.

**Consequences**

If convicted, the accused face up to six years in prison. This is not the first time that Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has investigated high-profile corruption cases.
