Ukraine’s President Responds to Rumors of Long-Range Strikes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken about reports that Western countries have given permission for Ukraine to attack Russian territory with long-range missiles.
Zelenskyy didn’t say yes or no, but instead said that actions speak louder than words. This means he didn’t confirm or deny the rumors.
For months, Russia has been bombing Ukrainian cities from the air. Ukraine has asked its Western friends for help, including permission to use powerful missiles like ATACMS and Storm Shadow. But so far, these missiles have not been allowed.
Zelenskyy wants to be able to attack Russian targets deep inside their country. This is one of his main goals in the war. But Western countries are still hesitant to give Ukraine the freedom to do this.
Recently, Germany refused to send Ukraine its Taurus missiles, despite many requests. Zelenskyy’s address to the nation was about these rumors and what they mean for the war effort.
