Kakha Kaladze Reacts to Michael Roth’s Statements
Georgian politician Kakha Kaladze has responded to comments made by German Bundestag chairman Michael Roth. Roth initially said he was against suspending visa-free travel for Georgians, but later changed his position.
Kaladze claims that Roth made “dirty statements” about Georgia. He believes that if Roth supports suspending visa liberalization, then Georgia is doomed. Kaladze also feels that Roth’s comments are an insult to the Georgian people and their enthusiasm, challenge, and threat to democracy.
Roth initially said he opposed suspending visa-free travel for Georgians. However, his position has now changed. He believes that suspending visa-free travel will send a message to the Georgian government that they need to stop their anti-democratic policies.
Kaladze feels that Roth’s statements are unfair and unacceptable. He suggests that if another European country made similar comments about Georgia, they would be punished by being thrown out of the country.
