Georgian basketball team will compete at the World Championship

The Georgian basketball squad will compete at the FIBA Basketball World Cup for the first ever time.
The Georgian national football team lost a match in qualifying against the Icelandic team 77-80. This was enough to secure third place in the Group L of FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers 2023.
The Basketball World Cup is scheduled to take place in three countries in August and September 2023: Japan, Philippines, and Indonesia.
