Former Minister Levan Davitashvili no longer holds the position of Secretary of the Georgian Government’s Economic Council.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze confirmed this information to journalists. As he noted, Levan Davitashvili is continuing his work in the private sector.
“Yes, he has moved to the private sector. Accordingly, the person leading economic policy is the Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili. We rely on her entirely when conducting economic policy,” Kobakhidze stated.
For reference, Levan Davitashvili resigned from his position as Minister of Economy on June 24. As Kobakhidze noted during a briefing on the same day, Levan Davitashvili was to take on the roles of the Prime Minister’s chief advisor on economic issues and Secretary of the Economic Council.
