Salome Samadashvili, one of the leaders of “Lelo for Strong Georgia,” commented on the German Foreign Ministry’s decision to recall Ambassador Peter Fischer from Georgia for consultations, stating that the ambassador’s recall sheds light on the decisions expected from Brussels.
“The recall of the German ambassador before the European Council meeting makes it clear what decisions we can expect from Brussels,” Samadashvili wrote on Facebook.
As a reminder, Germany has recalled its ambassador to Georgia, Peter Fischer, for consultations.
The statement released by the German Foreign Office reads: “For several months now, the Georgian leadership has been conducting a campaign of agitation against the European Union, Germany, and Germany’s ambassador, Fischer, personally. Therefore, Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has decided to recall Ambassador Fischer for consultations regarding further actions.”
As is known, on October 20, the EU Foreign Affairs Council will convene to discuss the issue of Georgia.
