 “Georgian Dream” is resorting to repressive measures that are clearly inspired by the Russian propaganda machine, stated Anita Hipper, the European Commission’s spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, in response to a question from a journalist of the TV channel “Formula.”
“We condemn any form of violence, and, of course, what is happening there does not go unnoticed,” Hipper noted when answering a question about whether the European Commission is monitoring the situation in Georgia.
“This is exactly why we are working on sanctions, ensuring that funds do not flow to the Georgian authorities, and supporting civil society, journalists, and all those who are peacefully working for a better future and do not give up on the hopes and values that Europe represents,” the European Commission’s spokesperson emphasized.
