Tamar Chergoleishvili, one of the leaders of the “Federalists,” stated to journalists after being questioned in court that she was not useful as a witness against Bidzina Ivanishvili, accused of being the country’s informal ruler, just as she was not useful in this case. According to her, as a politician, she continues to expose everyone involved in the “October 4 adventure.”
“A witness requires a different standard; a politician judges and reasons entirely differently. As a politician, I continue to expose everyone who participated in the October 4 adventure. All the information I share is accurate, but it cannot have legal value in the status of a witness. I can’t tell you what questions were asked; they made me sign a confidentiality agreement. I know for sure I wasn’t useful as a witness. It was quite a spectacle,” Chergoleishvili stated.
For context, a few days ago, Tamar Chergoleishvili, a leader of the “Federalists,” stated on air at “Formula” that “meetings were held at Bacho Akhalaia’s house regarding October 4, and there was even a confrontation within the National Movement about it. Moreover, there was communication with Saakashvili on this topic.” Following this statement, Tamar Chergoleishvili was summoned for questioning by the police. She refused to go to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and demanded that the questioning take place in the presence of a magistrate judge.
