Dmitry Peskov: Russia will not comply with the European Court of Human Rights’ decision on paying compensation to Georgia

 Russia will not comply with the European Court of Human Rights’ decision regarding the payment of compensation to Georgia, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced during a briefing.
“We will not implement this decision,” Peskov stated.
When asked whether paying the compensation could contribute to warming relations between Russia and Georgia, Peskov responded that “this is a separate issue.”
“We consider it a separate issue,” the Kremlin spokesperson noted.
According to the Georgian Ministry of Justice, on October 14, 2025, the Strasbourg Court announced its decision on compensation in the case of Georgia v. Russia (IV), the so-called ongoing occupation case.
According to the decision, Russia is obliged to pay more than 253 million euros in compensation to Georgia.
