According to Tamar Chergoleishvili, one of the leaders of the “Federalists,” she is convinced that former Defense Minister Bacho Akhalaia was involved in the events that unfolded on October 4.
Speaking to journalists before entering a court hearing as a witness, Chergoleishvili stated that her knowledge is based entirely on public information and posts circulated on social media.
“I cannot serve as a witness in court because I do not meet the legal standard for a witness. I know for certain that Bidzina Ivanishvili is the informal ruler of this country. I know for certain that Mamuka Khazaradze has been dictating the political agenda to TV Pirveli all this time. I know for certain that Mzia Amaghlobeli’s case and her sentence were carried out under political pressure, but I cannot serve as a witness in court because, to be a witness, you must have seen the facts with your own eyes. As a politician, I always expose those harmful actors who drag the country into adventures like the one attempted on October 4. I am absolutely convinced of my truth that Bacho Akhalaia was involved in all of this. However, I know this based solely on public information, primarily from the public statements of Levan Khabeishvili, Tina Bokuchava, and most importantly, Ani Nadareishvili and Burchuladze. Any sensible journalist or politician familiar with the matter would come to the same conclusion. This would have been discussed if we had a free media that, instead of fulfilling donors’ agendas, was engaged in investigating the truth and informing the public,” Chergoleishvili stated.
Regarding Mikheil Saakashvili’s stance, Chergoleishvili is convinced that former President Mikheil Saakashvili was aware of the planned protest on October 4.
“I am absolutely certain he was in the know. The fact that he distanced himself from it was precisely driven by the fear that it would be linked to Bacho Akhalaia. He distanced himself from it all, and soon he will distance himself from Bacho Akhalaia too. What do I mean? Read his posts, read Tina Bokuchava’s post, how she pleaded for support for her ‘agenda’ instead of October 4, and then look at what Saakashvili was doing—’now or never,’ and so on. Use a bit of reasoning, and you will see what I see,” Chergoleishvili told journalists.
For reference, a few days ago, Tamar Chergoleishvili, a leader of the “Federalists,” stated on air at “Formula” that “meetings regarding October 4 were held at Bacho Akhalaia’s house, and there was even a dispute within the National Movement about this, and moreover, there was communication with Saakashvili on this topic.” Following this statement, Chergoleishvili was summoned for questioning by the police. She refused to go to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and demanded that the questioning take place in the presence of a magistrate judge. Her questioning is currently underway in court.
