The Georgian government is taking steps that are fully consistent with the interests, policies, strategies, and vision of the new US administration, – First Vice Speaker of the Parliament Gia Volski told journalists while assessing the statement of Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen.
According to him, Georgia has not taken any steps that would harm US interests in our country.
“The Georgian government is taking steps that are in strict accordance with the interests, policies, strategies, and vision of the new US administration. Even if the new administration had not come, the Georgian government since 2012 has not in any way, in any way, matched the characterization that we heard from some senators. Georgia has not taken any steps that would harm US interests in Georgia, and of course, Russia has not taken any steps to give Georgia any advantage when it occupies 20% of Georgia’s territory. This is a reality that those who are against Georgia, including these particular senators, are deliberately ignoring,” said Volski.
For information, Senators Jim Risch and Jeanne Shaheen stated that the Georgian Dream is undermining Georgian democracy, not the United States. According to the senators, “it is unacceptable that the Georgian government is accusing former US government officials of undermining the Georgian government.”
