Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on the successful holding of the local elections, the Belarusian state news agency Belta reports, citing Lukashenko’s press service.
The convincing victory of the Georgian Dream candidates confirms their high standards of responsibility, reliability and professionalism, and also indicates the broad public support for the course you have chosen for the sovereign development of the country and the consolidation of society,” reads the congratulatory message.
According to media reports, in the letter, Lukashenko emphasized Belarus’s commitment to deepening friendly relations and cooperation with Georgia.
“I believe that the people’s representatives will make a significant contribution to the expansion of interregional ties between Belarus and Georgia and will facilitate the implementation of new trade, economic and humanitarian projects,” the letter states.
