Zodelava’s detention took place on Rustaveli Avenue while he was speaking to journalists. Irakli Nadiradze was also detained on Rustaveli Avenue.
Before his detention, Zodelava stated that he does not hold anyone else responsible, describing it as “his own rebellion” and expressing no regrets.
“We may have been less creative, perhaps less organized, but I’ll tell you directly: in a dictatorship, you won’t find a donor for processes. If a donor comes to you, it means you have to sell out your homeland; otherwise, no one will provide resources for better organization. This is advice for those who will continue the fight. This fight must absolutely continue. Seek out passionate people like yourselves, trust those you feel in your heart you should trust, don’t give up, keep fighting!
I won’t shift my responsibility onto anyone else; this was my personal rebellion, and I don’t regret it,” Zodelava told journalists before his detention.
A large number of police forces are mobilized in the area.
