The United National Movement responds to the statement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs regarding the attack on Igor Narmania, Deputy Chairman of the United National Movement.
According to the party’s statement, the attack was not spontaneous, but was pre-organized, on the one hand, to instill fear among young people and parents about tomorrow, and on the other hand, to neutralize Igor Narmania from tomorrow’s processes.
The party notes that the statements made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs are a gross distortion of the facts.
“The statement released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs indicates that there was a two-sided, confrontation, whereas Igor Narmania was deliberately and demonstratively attacked by several individuals.
The attack was not spontaneous, but was pre-organized, on the one hand, to instill fear among young people and their parents about tomorrow, and on the other hand, to neutralize Igor from tomorrow’s processes.
The statements made by the Ministry of Internal Affairs are a gross distortion of facts with the aim of deliberately misleading the public in order not to identify the authors of the violence organized by the de facto government and, with the usual disinformation, to present the fact of the attack on Igor Narmania as a two-sided confrontation.
As the chairman of the youth organization of the United National Movement, who has been actively involved in the protest from the very first day, Igor Narmania leads an exceptionally militant and patriotic youth movement and therefore poses a special threat to the regime, – reads the statement.
As is known, earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement regarding the incident that occurred on October 3 in the vicinity of the Metekhi Bridge.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, based on initial information obtained at this stage of the investigation, during a dispute with temple servants, a verbal confrontation between more than ten people who were with Igor Narmania and two people who came out of a restaurant in the vicinity, who were protecting a woman working in the temple, escalated into a physical confrontation, during which they inflicted various types of injuries on each other.
According to the agency, the vast majority of participants in the confrontation have been identified at this time. The investigation into the case is ongoing in an intensive mode.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 126 of the Criminal Code, which refers to violence committed by a group.
