“I voted for the liberation of those cities, villages and municipalities that actually belong to the Georgian people and not to some gang that has changed our historical choice,” Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of Lelo – Strong Georgia, told journalists after casting his vote at the polling station.
He called on opposition voters to be active.
“It is very important that citizens, Tbilisi residents and citizens living in other municipalities, express their constitutional right and not give their vote to the force that deprived the country of free choice, isolated the European choice and plunged the country into a rather serious crisis, a swamp of corruption, a criminal swamp, etc. That is why I voted for the liberation of those cities, villages and municipalities that actually belong to the Georgian people and do not belong to some gang that has changed our historical choice.
As for the alleged facts of election fraud, I would like to say that expecting that these methods will be changed by the force that is and has been falsifying elections is a vain expectation. Therefore, the only thing against this is the activity of opposition voters. Fraud has always happened in this country, but everything has a limit. If voters actively participate in the elections, this is a guarantee of what happened in 2012, 2003 and in those years when our voters were active, so I call on everyone to be active,” said Mamuka Khazaradze.
In addition, he also spoke about the rally planned on Rustaveli Avenue today and noted that “not a single hair should fall from anyone.”
“I want to warn everyone, first of all, the so-called government, that not a single hair should fall from anyone. Their threats will not go without response. This is our very firm position. However, I repeat – I do not believe in the transfer of power through some meeting, I have clearly stated this. Everyone must take political responsibility. This does not apply to the people who have been protesting this situation for more than 300 days. This is a political process and everyone must take political responsibility, be it election, demonstration on the street or holding some meeting,” said Khazaradze.
