My flesh burned when I saw prisoners of conscience—now I, too, am a shackled prisoner; tomorrow, my heart will be with you—once again, I would gladly sacrifice my skin and freedom in this fight; victory is inevitable! – This statement by Levan Khabeishvili, Chairman of the Political Council of the “United National Movement,” who is currently in prison, was shared on his social media.
According to Khabeishvili, the violence used against him at the protest has made him spiritually and mentally stronger.
“My blood ran cold when I saw beaten and bloodied young people… A few days later, while running to save one young person, my facial bones were also broken… This made me spiritually and mentally stronger. My flesh burned when I saw prisoners of conscience detained one after another. Now I, too, am a shackled prisoner. Tomorrow, my heart will be with you. Once again, I would gladly sacrifice my skin and freedom in this fight. I am confident in the unconditional victory of the Georgian people. We will meet soon!” writes Levan Khabeishvili.
