Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze met with Council of Europe Secretary General Alain Berset within the framework of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reports.
The meeting focused on the cooperation between Georgia and the Council of Europe, as well as the resolutions adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
“We touched upon all topics during the meeting, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. As you know, we suspended our activities in the Assembly after the Parliamentary Assembly approved a specific resolution. Here too, we expressed our full readiness to cooperate with the Council of Europe, we are ready to cooperate with the Parliamentary Assembly, although this cooperation should be based on specific principles. I thanked Mr. Alan Berset for his participation in the processes related to our country and I hope that these relations will continue in a healthy manner in the future,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Maka Botchorishvili and the Head of the Government Administration Levan Zhorzholiani.
