“Paata Burchuladze insults the Georgian flag with his body when he walks around wrapped in it – he generally gives the impression of an inadequate person,” said Gia Volski, the First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, to journalists.
According to him, Paata Burchuladze seeks to mislead the public into believing that the October 4 protest will be peaceful.
“I think the topic of Paata Burchuladze has become relevant because he decided to promote himself with some unimaginable, phantasmagorical scenarios to maintain popularity in this opposition movement. I would say that he, with his own body, insults the Georgian flag when he walks around wrapped in it. He generally gives the impression of an inadequate person. From this, it follows that the ‘National Movement’ has no choice but to come out openly, show their cards, and directly say what they have been denying for a long time. ‘Blood must be spilled’ was their belief, and this belief has now been voiced. In this regard, Paata wants to mislead the public into thinking that this will be a peaceful [protest] and that nothing will happen. To prove this, he makes some unimaginable, foolish comments through the media. The ‘National Movement’ had and still has its own plan. This plan is tied to bringing Mikheil Saakashvili back to power. In other words, to the return of a government that will stop at nothing,” Volski stated.
