The “United National Movement” party is issuing a statement regarding the arrest of Zviad Kuprava, a party member and member of the Tbilisi City Council faction.
As stated in the statement they released, the “Russian gang of traitorous criminals continues political repressions.”
“Today, they arrested Zviad Kuprava, a member of the United National Movement’s Tbilisi City Council faction. For Ivanishvili’s government, all red lines have been erased. From the day they came to power, they have not recognized freedom of speech and expression, restricted constitutional rights, and imprisoned our citizens for political statements. The fear of Ivanishvili’s gang has been further intensified by the approaching October 4, so it is important in the remaining days not to fall for the provocations organized by the government. On October 4, the Georgian people will gather on Rustaveli Avenue, where they will peacefully, legally, and constitutionally tell Russia’s puppet government what they have to say! All of this will soon come to an end once and for all, all political prisoners will be released, and we will return to building a united, strong, free, independent, European, dignified Georgia!” – reads the statement released by the “National Movement.”
For reference, Zviad Kuprava, a deputy of the National Movement in the Tbilisi City Council, was arrested. This became known at a briefing held at the State Security Service. The case concerns a statement made by Kuprava on September 30 in a social network, where he speaks about the rally planned for October 4 and, in the same context, says, “On October 4, we will definitely break through one special operations point out of 500, after which we will get the domino principle and Ivanishvili will fall.”
