“We don’t need new prisoners of conscience in jail, and therefore, I want to warn everyone once again to refrain from actions that entail a strict legal response,” stated Georgia’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to journalists.
As the head of government noted, the revolution announced by Paata Burchuladze will not succeed.
“I want to warn everyone: we take no pleasure in imprisoning anyone, but if someone breaks the law, everyone will have to answer before the law. This is our friendly warning to everyone. We don’t need new prisoners of conscience in jail. Therefore, I want to warn everyone once again to refrain from actions that entail a strict legal response – this is our very clear warning. Of course, the revolution announced by Paata Burchuladze will not succeed, but it may result in many people, more than in previous cases, ending up behind bars. For this reason, it is our duty toward them, as they are our citizens, to properly warn everyone. Let them not be surprised if the law responds to them very harshly,” stated Irakli Kobakhidze.
