The Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence has helped us a lot in ensuring greater stability and reducing polarization in the country – this law has given us the opportunity to ensure that today the degree of polarization has decreased, radical forces do not have the opportunity to successfully implement their agenda, – Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated while participating in the Business Association conference.
According to the Prime Minister, political stability is of key importance for business.
“We are doing our utmost to ensure political stability and political calm in the country.
A lot has been done for this over the past years, including certain steps that cost our country short-term instability. However, in the end, these steps allowed us to stabilize the situation qualitatively. Among them, the Law on Transparency of Foreign Influence has helped us a lot in ensuring greater stability and reducing polarization in the country. Unfortunately, non-transparent external funding was actively used to artificially incite polarization in Georgia. This law gave us the opportunity that today the degree of polarization has decreased, radical forces do not have the opportunity to successfully realize their agenda. Today we have a calm situation, local self-government elections are ahead of us. We think that the elections will pass peacefully, despite some not serious announcements, October 4 will pass peacefully. The peaceful development of the country will continue,” Kobakhidze noted.
