 In New York, on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic, Jean-Noël Barrot.
“The discussion focused on issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of political dialogue and the necessity of maintaining active communication in order to address shared challenges.
The ministers also discussed Georgia’s process of European integration. It was noted with optimism that relations with the European Union will soon return to their regular course. The significance of France’s support for this process was particularly underlined.
The conversation further addressed the security challenges in the region, including the ongoing occupation of Georgian territories by the Russian Federation. Minister Botchorishvili expressed gratitude to her French counterpart for France’s steadfast support of Georgia within international formats. The meeting also reviewed prospects for bilateral cooperation across various sectors”, reads the press release of the Foreign Ministry.
