Mikheil Kavelashvili attended the opening of the General Debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to the press service, the debate was opened with speeches by the UN Secretary-General and the President of the 80th session of the General Assembly.
“At the event, speeches were delivered by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, United States President Donald Trump, Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and other state leaders.

Alongside the President of Georgia, the opening of the general debate of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly was attended by Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health, and Social Protection Mikheil Sarjveladze, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the UN David Bakradze, Georgia’s Ambassador to the United States Tamar Taliashvili, and the Head of the Presidential Administration,” the statement reads.
According to information disseminated by the press service, during his visit to New York, Mikheil Kavelashvili will address the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
At the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump, Mikheil Kavelashvili will also attend an official reception hosted by the U.S. President and his wife, Melania Trump, in honor of the heads of delegations participating in the 80th session of the General Assembly.
“During the visit, the President of Georgia will hold high-level bilateral meetings, including a planned meeting between Mikheil Kavelashvili and UN Secretary-General António Guterres,” states the information released by Mikheil Kavelashvili’s press service.
