There were cases of sabotage when specific people, based on their own subjective interests, artificially created obstacles to the construction of even small hydropower plants and then tried to get a stake in specific projects, – Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated in his speech at the event dedicated to the Day of the Energy Worker.
According to the head of government, the government’s attitude in this direction will be completely principled.
“We will not allow anyone to be favored at the expense of state interests and the interests of the private sector in the implementation of such important projects. We will have significant changes in all directions, new practices will be formed. In this regard, constant consultations with energy specialists and the private sector are very important for us. It is on the basis of such consultations and advice that our energy policy should be determined in the future, which should become as effective as possible,” – Irakli Kobakhidze stated.
The Prime Minister thanked the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mariam Kvrivishvili, and her Deputy, Inga Pkhaladze.
“I would like to thank the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili. In a very short period of time, under her leadership, we have been able to implement very significant changes specifically in the energy sector, as well as in many other areas. I am confident that under her leadership we will achieve very significant results in the energy sector. I would also like to thank her Deputy, Ms. Inga, and I would like to thank energy professionals, everyone who makes a significant contribution to the development of energy in our country. I am confident that together we will achieve very significant results in the future. Our country will become a self-sufficient country in electricity. This is important not only for economic development and economic stability, but also for our country to strengthen economic sovereignty and state sovereignty in general,” said Irakli Kobakhidze.
