The State Security Service of Georgia states that an official notification regarding the two individuals detained in the “hexogen” case was sent to the Ukrainian Embassy without delay.
According to the SSS, the Ministry promptly informed the representative of the Ukrainian Embassy, Andriy Bilyk, who confirmed receipt of the official message.
“Despite the fact that one of the witnesses in the case directly points to Ukraine’s special services as the instigator of the crime, immediately after the detention of the aforementioned two individuals, even at the stage when the investigation was initiated under only one article, the Foreign Ministry was notified in accordance with the established legal procedures, and it is known to us that it also promptly informed the representative of the Ukrainian Embassy, specifically Andrii Bilyk. The latter has confirmed receipt of the corresponding official message,” the SSS states.
Previously, the Ukrainian Embassy in Georgia issued a statement regarding the two Ukrainian citizens suspected of illegal transportation of the explosive substance “hexogen.”
According to the statement, the embassy has not received official information from the Georgian side about the initiation of a criminal case against them for these charges, and it is noted that the embassy’s consular staff are taking all possible measures to obtain permission from Georgian law enforcement agencies to meet with the Ukrainian citizens.
