“A dictatorship has been established in the country; this is no longer just a slide toward authoritarianism. A Russian-style dictatorship has been established, which spares no one – neither women nor men, neither its own nor its opponents. Bidzina Ivanishvili has attacked absolutely everyone. This is unequivocally proof of the final days of his regime,” stated Tina Bokuchava, chairperson of the “United National Movement,” in response to the detention of Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change.” According to Bokuchava, this is precisely what frightens the regime now.
“I don’t know how long they will detain Elene or what decision will be made by the dictator in his unimaginable paranoia, Bidzina Ivanishvili, in his final days. But no matter how long they keep Elene Khoshtaria detained, there will always be someone else outside raising the flag of resistance. If it’s me next and they detain me, there will surely be someone after me, and after them, and so on indefinitely, until victory. Ivanishvili’s Russian-‘Kots’ regime has failed to comprehend this; the traitors have failed to understand this because they have nothing pure or precious,” Bokuchava stated.
One of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” Elene Khoshtaria, has been detained. Law enforcement officers took Khoshtaria from her home. The reason for the detention is presumably the damage to the banner of “Georgian Dream’s” mayoral candidate, Kakha Kaladze, for which the Ministry of Internal Affairs opened a case. The investigation was initiated under Article 187 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to damaging or destroying property.
For reference, on September 14, Elene Khoshtaria wrote “Russian Dream” on Kakha Kaladze’s election banner near his campaign headquarters. She shared the corresponding video on social media herself and stated that in this way, she expresses solidarity with Megi Diasamidze, who was detained a few days ago for damaging Kakha Kaladze’s election banner.
