Expressing an opinion should be a normal thing – as many times as I want, I will write on Kaladze’s banner that he is a slave to the Russians! – Elene Khoshtaria, one of the leaders of the Coalition for Changes, who today made an inscription “Russian” on the election banner of the mayoral candidate of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, told InterpressNews.
As Elene Khoshtaria notes, she is not interested in what reaction they will have, because, according to her, “this is not a government that acts according to legal logic”.
“First: In general, expressing an opinion should be a normal thing, you should express your opinion when you think Kaladze is Russian. This should not be punished.
Second: Megi Diasamidze’s arrest was my motivation. A person was arrested for nothing, put in prison because she wrote something on a banner.
Third: I don’t care what their reaction will be. This is not a government that acts according to legal logic, they will arrest you when they want and they will not arrest you when they don’t want. I don’t care what they decide, I will write that Kaladze is a slave of the Russians,” Khoshtaria notes.
For information, the Tbilisi City Court has granted a non-custodial bail of 2,000 GEL to activist Megi Diasamidze, who is accused of damaging the election banner of Tbilisi mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 3 people, including Megi Diasamidze, as part of an investigation launched into the events that took place on Melikishvili Avenue in Tbilisi on September 8-9 of this year. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Megi Diasamidze damaged the election banner of the Tbilisi mayoral candidate of the Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party on Melikishvili Avenue.
