Nothing is changing in the plans for October 4th – Levan has been arrested, but in his place will come dozens and hundreds of other people who will replace Levan on October 4, – the Secretary General of the National Movement, Petre Tsiskarishvili, told journalists.
According to him, the current mood in society cannot be extinguished.
“As for the plans for October 4, nothing has changed. If the regime thought that by doing so it would clear the field and by isolating Levan it would extinguish the mood and wave that is planned for October 4 and somehow neutralize the anger that exists in society, I am sure that it will happen the other way around – Levan has been arrested, but in his place dozens and hundreds of other people will come out who will replace Levan on that very day, October 4, when they will see the anger of the Georgian people.
For so many years now, as Bidzina Ivanishvili fears Mikheil Saakashvili, and recently, it seems that he has also become very afraid of Levani, and because of this fear they have not found another way out, they have decided to isolate a person. Levan was arrested on an absolutely incomprehensible, vague charge of allegedly offering someone a bribe,” Tsiskarishvili told journalists.
For information, the State Security Service arrested one of the leaders of the National Movement, Levan Khabeishvili, on the fact of publicly promising money to officials as a bribe. The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 339 of the Criminal Code and provides for a sentence of 4 to 7 years of imprisonment.
Along with Khabeishvili, politician Murtaz Zodelava was also arrested. According to the State Security Service, he attempted to escape, physically resisting the Anti-Corruption Agency’s officers and abusing one of them.
